Q: Can we pull a ski or tube behind the boat?

A: For your safety and furthermore, due to our limited liability insurance regulations, we do not allow anything to be pulled behind our pontoon & fishing boats. (No water-skis, tubes, and/or wakeboards).

Q: Who must wear a life jacket?

A: We highly recommend all passengers wear life jackets while the boat is in motion. Life jackets are provided for children and adults, and available in many sizes.

Q: Can I bring a pet?

A: Yes. A maximum of 3 pets under 30 pounds are allowed on our boats. @ $30 per pet. Larger pets are prohibited due to the potential of their nails poking holes in the seats. Pets must be leashed at all times on our resort.

Q: Can we go fishing on the boats?

A: No problem. You are welcome to fish off our boats, you must have a valid fishing license. We offer a selection of lures, bait, and fishing supplies at the Betula Lake convenience store.

Q: Can we hire a captain to drive the boat?

A: Yes, we can recommend to you a qualified licensed captain not employed by us at a additional rate of $25 per hour plus tip, paid by you directly to the captain in cash, we also need a email request and/or phone verification that you need a captain after you make the reservation to ensure the captain’s availability on the date you requested. We will provide you with the captains name and phone number to finalize their availability.

Q: Do I need a reservation?

A: We fill up quickly during spring/summer season and recommend making a reservation to ensure boat availability. Although we do allow walk-in customers. 100% payment for the rental plus tax via credit/debit card is required to make a reservation.

Q: What about refunds if I need to cancel a reservation?

A: Voluntary cancellations can be made 14 days before scheduled rental date. There is a 25% cancellation fee.

Cancellations made within 14 days of scheduled rental receives no refund.

No shows will be charged full rental price with no refund issued.

Q: What if there is bad weather?

A: Betula Lake Resort manager will determine if weather is considered unsafe to operate a vessel one hour before departure. If deemed unsafe, we always first try to reschedule, however, if we have no availability, a boat rental credit will be issued.

Q: Can we purchase additional damage protection?

A: Yes all of our boats automatically come with liability insurance if you were to accidentally damage another boat/er or dock with a $2500.00 deductible (you will be responsible for deductible), however, any damage to “our” boats is 100% the renters financial responsibility.

  1. 15% of rental cost will cover up to $500 in accidental personal damage done to our boat by the renter.
  2. 25% of rental cost will cover up to $1000 in accidental personal damage done to our boat by the renter.

Q: Do I need a boating license?

A: If you have boating experience. You do not require a Boating License to rent one of our boats. Simple, easy process that gets you your rental in no time.

Q: Do I have to pay for gas?

A: The first tank of fuel is included in our price.

Q: Is there a security deposit required for damage?

A: We do not charge a damage security deposit for potential accidental damage, however, you will need to sign the rental contract that authorizes us to charge your credit card for any damages while on our boat.
